What is Age of Heroes

Age of Heroes is homegrown set rules for table-top fantasy role-playing designed for my gaming groups. It was available in a very incomplete form for free download around the turn of the century, and most recently a completed version at Lulu in hardcover.

The latest version is 5.0.4, available at Lulu.

Interested in a review? The most recent one for version 5.0.2 is found at The Bedrock Blog.

I received my copy of this a couple of weeks ago, and I was very excited to get it. I've only had time to browse through it a bit, but I very much like what I see. I was amused by the imminent release of the Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG, thinking, like many others who have read or read about that game, that it would be great to play on occasion, just for the nostalgia. But your game is something very different. By design, it's a game for the long haul, easily a go-to game for playing the kinds of campaigns traditionally targeted by D&D and its brethren. I look forward to putting up a real review in the next week or two.
